Qualifying Rounds
Qualifying for the 2022 AFC Asian Cup was originally scheduled to begin in March 2019, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was delayed until October 2020. The qualifying draw was held on 7 July 2020, with the first round of matches held in October 2020. The 2022 AFC Asian Cup, also known as the 17th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, will be held in the United Arab Emirates from 5 January to 1 February 2022. The tournament will feature 24 teams, with the top eight teams in the AFC Nations Cup qualifying for the tournament. The quarter-finals will be played on 22 and 23 January, with the semi-finals on 26 and 27 January. The final will be played on 1 February 2022.
